A Message of Support for International Women’s Day

You are not Alone
There are moments in every woman’s life when she feels like she has to hold everything together on her own. Sometimes it’s spoken. Often it’s silent. But almost every woman knows that feeling, the weight of responsibility, the pressure to be strong, the expectation to keep going even when you’re exhausted.
I know that feeling well.
Growing up as the eldest child, without a father for most of my life, I learned early how to be the responsible one. The helper. The caretaker. The one who didn’t ask for much because other people needed more. And for a long time, I believed that strength meant doing everything myself.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
Strength isn’t about carrying it all. Strength is knowing when you shouldn’t have to.
And if you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much, I want you to know this:
You are not alone.
The Invisible Load Women Carry
Women hold so many roles, often all at once:
- caretaker
- nurturer
- partner
- mother
- entrepreneur
- leader
- emotional anchor
We support, soothe, organise, anticipate, and hold space for others, sometimes without anyone noticing how much energy it takes.
And while we’re busy being everything for everyone else, our own needs quietly slip to the bottom of the list. That’s when the exhaustion creeps in. That’s when resentment whispers. That’s when we start to feel disconnected from ourselves.
Not because we’re weak.
Not because we’re failing.
But because we’re human.
And humans aren’t meant to carry life alone.
What If We Allowed Ourselves to Be Supported?
Imagine what would shift if we stopped pretending we’re fine when we’re not.
If we stopped apologising for needing rest.
If we stopped feeling guilty for asking for help.
If we stopped believing that our worth is tied to how much we can hold.
Support isn’t a luxury.
It’s a necessity.
And it starts with small, compassionate choices.
Ways to Create More Support & Balance
These aren’t rules, just gentle invitations:
- Fill your own cup first — Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s what keeps you grounded.
- Ask for help without guilt — People who love you want to support you. Let them.
- Find your circle — Surround yourself with women who uplift, not drain.
- Embrace boundaries — “No” can be an act of self-preservation.
- Seek guidance and support — Coaching, mentorship, and meaningful friendships can be transformational.
These shifts don’t happen overnight. But each small step is a reclaiming of your energy, your voice, your worth.
A Message for International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day on the 8th of March isn’t just about celebrating achievements, it’s about acknowledging the unseen emotional labour, the quiet resilience, and the strength that often goes unnoticed.
It’s a reminder that:
- Your experiences are valid.
- Your emotions matter.
- You deserve support.
- You are worthy of rest.
- You don’t have to do life alone.
This day is for you, the woman who gives so much, feels so deeply, and keeps showing up even when it’s hard.
A Deeper Reflection
I’ve written this message because I know how isolating it can feel to carry everything silently. And I also know how life changes when you finally allow yourself to be supported.
